Who I am
How I protect your data
I am fiercely protective of your privacy and your child's, so of course I never pass your details on to anyone. I have reviewed everything I could think of that could go wrong — losing my phone with my contacts list, having my computer stolen — and put in place all the precautions I know of, such as using strong passwords for absolutely everything.
What personal data are collected directly or indirectly, and why
Comments you leave on my website
When visitors leave comments on the site I see the information you entered. If you're not commenting as a professional and you accidentally put in your whole name, I edit it out. This is so that your name isn't displayed on my site as this would compromise your privacy and your child's.
I use an automated app to filter out spam, and to do this it also collects your IP address (and 'browser user agent string', whatever that is) .
Embedded content from YouTube and other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. YouTube videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
How long I retain your data
Your data are kept indefinitely, whether they're comments on my website, or your emails to me, or the contact details you've entered if you signed up to my mailing list.
Unsubscribing from my mailing list, and erasing your data
If you signed up to my mailing list, you can use the 'Unsubscribe' link at the bottom of the news I send you or you can get in touch to ask me to take you off the list. You can request to receive details of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you and that I remove any comment you posted on the website. If I have your contact details because you emailed me, you can ask me to erase your details.
