Crisis Helplines

Here are organisations that will give you help if you are in distress or suicidal. I worked with one of them a while back and I can assure you that caring people are there to take your calls day or night. If you just need someone to listen to you for ten minutes, that's fine. If you're going through a hard phase, the organisation may offer to keep in touch so that you feel supported for as long as you need it. Some places don't just to phone calls, they do email/chat and you can also visit in person. These organisations are staffed by rotas of people who get training and supervision, so that someone is always there for you. And they are very clear about confidentiality.

For all these reasons, I'm asking you to use one of these services rather than use this site if yours is a cry for help.

And then to get real, long-term help with a trusted family member, friend, or counsellor.

For organisations that may support you in other ways, see my pages on Books & Links relating to anorexia and other subjects.
